BOOK RELEASE & WORKSHOP ON 'RECENT ADVANCES IN GEOTECHNICAL EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING'

This workshop is designed for postgraduate & research students and Engineering college teachers. The contents of the workshop provide basic knowledge of the engineering seismology and engineering aspects of earthquakes. Further, understanding ground motion and ground response, quantifying earthquake hazards is the focus of the workshop. Other topics covered are the determination of dynamic properties of soils, ground liquefaction and seismic response analysis of slopes, foundations and retaining walls. Earthquake resistant design aspects with mitigation plan for earthquake hazards. The workshop is relevant to students of civil engineering, earth sciences, earthquake engineering and infrastructure engineering.
